LIMESTONE — The new Miss Limestone and Teen Miss Limestone were crowned on April 21 during a pageant tea at the Limestone Community School.
Stephanie Leighton was named Miss Limestone 2012 on Saturday during the Miss and Teen Miss Limestone Pageant Tea at the Limestone Community School. Leighton sang during the talent portion of the tea.
Adjusting to the weight (and height) of their new crowns are Miss Limestone 2012 Stephanie Leighton and Teen Miss Limestone 2012 Ellyzabeth Bencivenga; Vessa Villareal was the runner-up for Miss Limestone, but she was named “Most Photogenic” of the two and received an award for generating the highest ticket sales.
The new Miss Limestone is the 17-year-old daughter of Stephen Leighton and Cynthia Doody. For her talent portion of the Pageant Tea, she sang “A Little Bit Stronger” by Sara Evans. Runner-up Villareal is the 18-year-old daughter of Nina Bell; during the tea’s talent segment, Villareal played a clarinet solo to the song “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele.
Limestone’s new Teen Miss is the 15-year-old daughter of Wendy and Anthony Bencivenga. She played the song “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins. Runner-up Labreck is the 15-year-old daughter of Tammy Morrow and Danny Labreck. For her talent, Labreck performed a baton twirling routine to the song “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkston.
Vessa Villareal was named “Most Photogenic” for the Miss Limestone Pageant Tea and received an award for having the highest ticket sales. During the talent portion of the tea, she played her clarinet.
Pageant Committee Chairperson Vicki Page was the pageant’s mistress of ceremonies, interviewing conducting interviews with 2011 Junior Miss Limestone Sirrea Deschenes, 2011 Pre Teen Miss Limestone Emily Michaud, 2011 Little Miss Limestone Kourtney West and 2010 Miss Limestone Audra Kirk.
Page also interviewed the tea’s usher Karson Albert, who helped the ladies make their way down the cafeteria stairs during the evening gown portion of the event. Paula Mulherin assisted Page and the pageant committee.
Teen Miss Limestone 2012 contestant Chelsea Labreck was voted Miss Congeniality during the Miss and Teen Miss Limestone Pageant Tea on April 21. She was also named “Most Photogenic” for the Teen Miss Limestone Pageant Tea, and performed a baton twirling routine during the pageant’s talent portion.
