On March 17, nine young area ladies enjoyed an evening of pure “Magic, Magic, Magic” as they participated in the 2012 Miss Pre-Teen, Jr. Miss and Miss Teen Caribou pageant held on stage at the Caribou Performing Arts Center.

Contestants vying for the three queen titles were judged in physical fitness/apparel, talent performances, an evening gown appearance as well as a personal interview that took place prior to the evening event.

Seeking to capture one of the queen’s crowns and represent Caribou in the coming months were the following contestants, their talent presentations and their sponsors for the pageant.

Pre-Teen Miss contestants

Brianna Reece, 10, the daughter of Teresa Prue and Michael Reece elegantly performed a piano selection by Beethoven. Her sponsors included North Caribou Cuts and Plourde and Plourde, Inc.

Brooke Haney, 10, the daughter of Troy and Jenn Haney, gracefully and confidently presented a piano selection of “Enter the Gladiators.” Haney was sponsored by Pat’s Automotive and Haney’s Building Specialties.

Olivia Picard, 10, the daughter of Bryan and Carla Picard was sponsored by Sonny’s Jewelry. Attired in a very gala-styled dress, Picard had the audience tapping their toes as she presented a trombone selection of “Can, Can.”

Mariah A. Mink, 10, the daughter of Mary Ann Mink, performed a theatrical dance (accompanied on-stage by a very unique — and quiet companion) to the music of “Popular.” Sponsoring Mink for the pageant was the Sports Inn.

Jr. Miss contestants

Samantha Irene Fortin, 13, the daughter of Robin and Robert Fortin presented a clear and captivating clarinet instrumental of  “Ave Maria.” Her sponsors for the evening included County Physical Therapy, TD Bank, Do Do’s and her family.

Kelsey Kiehn, 13, the daughter of John and Kim Kiehn, showed her stage confidence executing a strong vocal selection of “Don’t Rain on My Parade.” Kiehn’s sponsor for the pageant was Monica’s Scandinavian Gifts.

Meagan Dube, 11, the daughter of Ed and Theresa Dube, performed a clear, confident vocal selection of  “Love in Any Language.” Dube was sponsored by her family for the 2012 pageant.

Teen Miss contestants

Kirsten Diane Haley-Maynard, 14, the daughter of Spencer and Heather Maynard, presented a catchy violin instrumental of “Irish Party in Third Class.” Her pageant sponsor was Construction Materials Testing, a division of FGSI/CMT, Inc.

Victoria Keaton, 16, the daughter of Michael and Susan Keaton, graced the staged singing “On My Own,” from “Les Miserables.” Keaton was sponsored by her family for the 2012 triple crown pageant.

When all was said and done, as excitement and energy filled the CPAC, topped only by the visions of brightly colored gowns, even brighter smiles and the glitter of the three awaiting crowns, the nine contestants stood on-stage anticipating the final announcements — each of them the perfect candidate to represent the city of Caribou.

Named 2012 Pre-Teen Miss Caribou was Mariah A. Mink; Brianna Reece was awarded first-runner up to the pre-teen crown.

Capturing the Jr. Miss Caribou 2012 was Kelsey Kiehn and Samantha Fortin was named first-runner up to the title.

Caribou’s new Teen Miss Caribou 2012 is Victoria Keaton. Kirsten Diane Haley-Maynard was first-runner up to the crown.

Other awards presented prior to the announcement of the new queens included the following.
