AR Linda White OBPRESQUE ISLE – Linda L. White, 64, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday morning, February 28, 2012, at her Presque Isle residence. She was born May 12, 1947, in Lewiston, the daughter of Almon E. “Ted” and Dorothy A. (Knight) White.

She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1967, resided in Caribou for a number of years and started her working career at the Helen P. Knight School where she lovingly cared for many children and adults with severe disabilities. Linda also worked at the Caribou Nursing Home and always felt “blessed” to be able to bring her laughter and caring heart to those who were in need.

Linda also was a member of the group called the “Kiddlehoppers” where she played the spoons. Although the group dressed in ragged clothes and played mostly homemade instruments, they brought smiles and laughter to many people when they performed at nursing homes and public events. She also loved to Line Dance and was actively involved with the Living Christmas Tree Production for many years.

Linda was predeceased by her father, Almon E. “Ted” White; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Jodon.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy White of Presque Isle; one daughter, Jody Cyr and her companion, Chad McNeal, both of Caribou; one sister, Jo-Ann Jodon of Boalsburg, PA; three grandchildren, Trevor, Devin and Tiahna Cyr, all of Caribou; special nieces, aunts and cousins.

A Memorial service was conducted Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the United Parish Church, 4 Church St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Dr. Diane Langworthy officiating. Friends called at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Spring interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments was held at the church reception area, immediately after the service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Linda to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross St., Presque Isle, 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
