CARIBOU — The rosters for the 22nd annual Aroostook County All-Star High School Basketball Classic on Tuesday, March 6 have been announced.
The teams feature 20 girls and 20 boys from the senior class of 2012, representing 16 Aroostook County schools.
For the girls, Team Jade will be coached by Steve Shaw, and will include Anna Paradis from Ashland; Jamie Martin from Caribou; Amanda Hotham and Danielle Tracy from Fort Fairfield; Amanda Allen and Stephanie Leighton from Limestone; Nicole Cyr from Madawaska; Chelsea Nickerson from Presque Isle; and Natasha Bourgoine and Ashlie Wilson from Van Buren.
The other girls’ team, Team Heliconia, will be coached by Ron Ericson, and will include Rachel Grew and Victoria McIntyre from Central Aroostook; Ariana Babineau from Easton; Samantha Carapellucci and Michela Desjardins from Fort Kent; Sara Fitzpatrick from Hodgdon, Amanda Fogerty and Makala Folson from Houlton; Kayla Richards from Presque Isle; and Olivia Raymond from Southern Aroostook.
For the boys, Team Sapphire will be coached by Tim Prescott, and will include Chad Caverhill from Caribou; Jonah Bacon and Reid Clark from Easton; Curtis Bouchard and Tom Enerva from Fort Kent; Matt Eager, Andrew Kofstad and Wilder York from Presque Isle; Patrick Goodall from Southern Aroostook; and Eric Laplante from Van Buren.
The other boys’ team, Team Charcoal, will be coached by Bill McAvoy, and will include Dan Brewer, Mike McClung and Brendan York from Central Aroostook; Ethan Holmes and Micah Wiley from Greater Houlton Christian Academy; Braden Cunningham from Katahdin; Matt Deschenes from Madawaska, and Chase Chandler, Jordan McLaughlin and Mason Turner from Washburn.
The girls’ game begins at 5:30 p.m. and the boys’ game begins at 7 p.m. at the Caribou High School Gymnasium.
Admission is $5 for adults, and $3 for students. All proceeds benefit the Aroostook League Scholar Athletes Scholarship Program.
The evening will also feature a half-court shot promotion sponsored by County Physical Therapy and halftime entertainment from The Maine Dance Academy.
