On Saturday, March 10, approximately 80 citizens, representing a broad cross section of the Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 (Caribou, Limestone and Stockholm) communities will participate in a “Vision Cafe” at the Caribou Middle School.
This event will involve students, parents, school staff members and community leaders participating in structured conversations focusing around the current and future education for students in the RSU. The Vision Cafe will take place from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with participants working in small groups discussing their hopes and dreams for the future of education for the children of RSU 39.
RSU 39 Superintendent, Frank McElwain stated, “Caribou, Limestone and Stockholm, have worked hard to bring together three separate school districts into a regional school unit. With many of the re-organizational pieces in order, the district is ready to engage in a collective conversation about how we can best meet the needs of our students as we move forward.”
The goal of the “Vision Cafe is to create a shared vision of the future of the Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 schools that can be implemented in the next 5 to 10 years.
Those members of the public who would to participate in the Vision Cafe session are asked to contact Lois Brewer, assistant superintendent at 496-6311 or e-mail her at lbrewer@rsu39.org.
