Citizen of the Year nominations sought

LIMESTONE — Looking to celebrate their next Citizen of the Year, officials with the Greater Limestone Chamber of Commerce and members of the Limestone Rotary Club are looking for nominations from the community to name the next Citizen of the Year.

Event organizers are reminding the public that the nominee’s good deeds or volunteerism don’t have to be exclusive to 2011 — any good deeds or qualifying attributes from previous years are still applicable for nominations.

“There are many well-deserving individuals in our communities,” organizers said. “Let this be their year to be recognized.”

The award will be presented at the annual Recognition Banquet on Thursday, March 1 at the Loring Job Corps Center Ball Room.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 10. Nominations should be placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Citizen of the Year Nomination” and sent to the Limestone Chamber of Commerce c/o Citizen of the Year, 93 Main Street, Limestone, Maine, 04750.
