From “Albert” to “Violette,” 2014 World Acadian Congress officials announced on Jan. 5 the first 61 families sanctioned to hold reunions during the much anticipated celebratory event.
A total of 66 applications were submitted in the first open application round. Of those 66 applications, five were duplicate applications for the same last name.
Over half of 2014 WAC family reunions to be held in Acadia of the Lands and Forests region take place in Maine.
The first 61 families named and the reunion locations include, alphabetically by name:
