Caribou – Clifford J. Plourde, 90, died January 10, 2012, at his Caribou residence. He was born in Stockholm July 31, 1921, the son of the late Joe and Talie (Morneault) Plourde. Clifford served with the US Army during WW II and was a member of the Perkins Plourde Post 136 American Legion, Stockholm and was a life member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW. He farmed in Stockholm for a number of years and was the head shipper for Giant Vac Manufacturing, South Windham, Conn. Mr. Plourde was a devoted member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane (Paquin) Plourde in 2001. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Rose Teena Plourde of Caribou; three daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnn and Dan Levesque of Ellington, Conn., Bertha and Dan Spallacci of Stafford Springs, Conn. and Pearl Payton of Madelia Minn.; a brother and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Delima Plourde of Florida and Anna Ayotte of Conn.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 8:30 a.m. Friday until time of services. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Friday from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
