Thibodeau, Alfred Joseph, 86, of Stockholm, at Presque Isle, on January 11, 2012. Interment will be in St. Theresa’s Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
Stockholm – Alfred Joseph Thibodeau, 86, died January 11, 2012, at Presque Isle. He was born in Stockholm December 14, 1925, the son of the late Fred and Leopauldine (Bossie) Thibodeau. Mr. Thibodeau served with the US Army during WW II where he was a part of the occupational troop in Japan as well as a combat veteran of the Philippines. A lifelong resident of Stockholm, he was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and was also a member of the Perkins Plourde Post 136 American Legion. Mr. Thibodeau was employed as a trackman for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for many years. He married Irene Rossignol and she predeceased him in 1986.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lloyd Woods of Stockholm; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mack and Karen Thibodeau of Rosepine, LA and Joe and Lisa Thibodeau of Stockholm; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Thibodeau was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Eddie Plourde; a sister, Rachael Marquis and a special friend, Florence Cyr.
Friends visited with the family at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street Caribou, 7-9 p.m. Sunday where evening prayer services were held at 7:30 p.m. A memorial mass was celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 from the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Theresa’s Catholic Church with Fr. Clement Thibodeau, officiating. Interment will be in St. Theresa’s Cemetery in the spring.
