Caribou – Carroll Philip St. Peter, 75, a 20-year honorably retired Technical Sergeant in the USAF, went to meet his divine creator Dec. 31, 2011, at Caribou after a courageous and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Caribou January 9, 1936, the son of Edmund and Ora (LaChance) St. Peter. Carroll was a graduate of Caribou High School and earned two Bachelor of Science degrees, one at Ricker College in Houlton and the other in Business Management from Unity College. He was a devout member of the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Carroll enlisted in the United States Air Force in July 1955 as a Master Instructor in radio relay for test equipment and Radar multiplex systems. He was stationed at bases all over the United States as well as abroad and served in Korea and distinguished himself by earning numerous medals and awards.
Carroll was an active member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW, Henry B Pratt Post 15 American Legion, Loring Military Heritage Center and co-chair of the Caribou Veterans Memorial Park Association.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Ora of Caribou are his four children, Joseph and his wife, Eva St. Peter of Yorktown, Virginia, daughter, Jean and her husband, Dylan Guy of Brewer, James and his wife, Marianella of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and John and his wife, Maria of Spring lake, North Carolina; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Maynard St. Peter and his wife, Velma of Caribou; one sister, Marilyn Hill and her husband, Gary of Tallahassee, Fl. He also leaves behind his loving and devoted companion of 16 years Ms. Norma Bouchard of Caribou. Mr. St. Peter was predeceased by his father; his loving wife, Charlotte (Chapman) St. Peter; one sister, Dina and one grandson Michael.
Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday January 5, 2012, from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Spring interment will take place in the St. Dennis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the VFW Hall, Van Buren Road.
