Happy April Fool’s Day!

There is so much to do in the Presque Isle area this week. The PI Chamber’s Web site – www.pichamber.com — has a listing of events planned in our area.
The place to be in Presque Isle this week will be the 150th Birthday Party on Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Presque Isle Historical Society invites everyone to come out and join the celebration on the official anniversary of the founding of Presque Isle. Activities will include fun things for children, carriage rides, displays and demonstrations by local artisans. And don’t miss the live music and photography exhibit.
The cake cutting and official ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m. All this excitement will be at Northern Maine Community College. Take this opportunity to meet your friends and neighbors and enjoy the activities together and marvel at the many changes and growth of Presque Isle over the years.
Many thanks to the Presque Isle Historical Society for hosting this party as well as all the other events throughout this Sesquicentennial Year. A complete list of events can be found on their Web site www.pihistory.org.
While you are in the area make the Forum’s Arts, Crafts and Collectibles Fair another one of your visits. The Annual Spring Arts, Crafts and Collectibles Fair runs April 4-5; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Round out your day with some retail therapy in town and see what’s new for spring. Whether shopping for clothes, thinking of redecorating or looking for a new or used car, there are lots of wonderful places to shop in the area.
Busy days also dictate having lunch or supper at one of several delicious restaurants or taking home something so you need not have to cook after your busy day.
We encourage you to enjoy and take advantage of all these wonderfully exciting events. And remember, Presque Isle will only have one 150th Birthday Party … Don’t miss it! Come out and enjoy spring with your neighbors and friends for these as well as future Sesquicentennial celebrations during the year!
