Auburn, Washington — Charles Andrew Nelson, 59, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, November 12, 2011, in Auburn. He was born on May 11, 1952, in Caribou, the son of the late Bertel R. and Margaret A. (Mattson) Nelson of New Sweden.
Charlie is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou Nelson of New Sweden, Shirley Nelson and husband, Brian Wakefield, and their son, Golga P. Sakar of Anchorage, AK, Trish and Jeff Allen, and their daughter, Hazel Anika of Anchorage, AK. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, December 14, from 4-5 p.m. at New Sweden Baptist Church in New Sweden. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m., Reverend Chris Hearn officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at New Sweden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to Aroostook Brigade, Inc., 231 Station Rd., New Sweden, ME 04762.
