LIMESTONE — Members of Limestone’s Rotary Club and Knights of Columbus with help from other organizations and friends are working to ensure that no one in the greater Limestone Community goes hungry during the holidays.
For their 43rd consecutive year, the groups will once again be assembling Christmas Baskets for individuals and families in need that are residents of Limestone or Caswell.
“This effort has been designed to provide some of the most neediest members of our communities a traditional meal during the Christmas holiday season,” program organizers said.
As resources necessary to assemble the holiday baskets are limited, volunteers are asking that individuals seeking Christmas Baskets this season complete and submit a short information request and place it in the specifically marked receptacle at either the Caswell or Limestone town offices. Information forms may also be submitted to local Pastors, Rotarians and Knights of Columbus.
Organizers advise that as resources are limited this year, not all who apply will be guaranteed to receive assistance.
“If you are not selected to receive a Christmas Basket, it is not because you are not in need but rather, others who received baskets were determined to have a greater need,” organizers explained.
Those interested in assisting the Rotarians and Knights in their mission to make sure no one goes hungry can send donations to the Limestone Rotary Club, at P.O Box. 434, Limestone, 04750. Plans to assemble the baskets will be solidified on Thursday, Dec. 15.
