Margaret has been at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue (HHPR) for a about a week. She was found as a stray wandering near the Irving Station on Bennett Drive. “We feel quite certain that Margaret is a lost cat whose owner is searching for her,” explained HHPR President Norma Milton. “She appears to be about 3 years, she is spayed. HHPR tested her for Leukemia/AIDS, updated shots and wormed her. If Margaret is your cat, please furnish proof by photos and/or vet records,” she added. HHPR volunteers have launched their second annual $1 for $1,000 donation competition which will run from now to March 1, 2012. Volunteers are hoping to beat last year’s total of $3,000. HHPR also has a Christmas Calendar Sale slated for February 2012. “It’s exciting, fun and you are very apt to be a winner,” Milton said. With 29 “leaping lizards” prizes to be won, the Halfway Home Pet Rescue February Calendar are only $5 each and on sale now. Prizes include free haircuts, oil changes, car washes, pizzas, all kinds of fun gifts and money saving surprises. Calendars can be purchased through Milton at 492-1722, or Barb Ganem at 492-0949, or drop into the Caribou Chamber of Commerce. “And please, don’t forget our Pizza Hut Value Card for only $6 with lots of great bargains at the Pizza Hut — both the Pizza Hut Value Card and the Calendar will make great stocking stuffers or handy gifts for the postman, yard man, etc.,” Milton said.
