UMFK open house slated for Nov. 14

Fort Kent — The University of Maine at Fort Kent will host its annual Fall Open House for prospective college-bound students on Monday, Nov. 14, with registration and check-in at 8:30 a.m. in Cyr Hall, followed by a light breakfast in the Bengal’s Lair.  

The morning will begin with opening welcome remarks from Jill Cairns, admissions director, followed by presentations on various aspects of the campus community, such as academic programs, athletics, admissions and financial aid.

Prospective students will meet and interact with faculty members from all majors, administrators and current students in order to learn more about UMFK’s academic and campus life. 

A campus tour will be included and students will be served lunch in UMFK’s Nowland Hall dining room.

In the afternoon, prospective students will learn more about the admissions application process and financial aid. There also will be an opportunity for participants to ask questions. After the sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a wrap-up session at 1:30 p.m.
