Greater Limestone Chamber of Commerce President Joe LaPierre discusses the layout of Limestone’s potential new Web page with Larry Hamilton, of Amity Designs.

Just about a dozen individuals attended the Oct. 3 meeting, including Larry Hamilton of Amity Designs which looks to be the design firm to do the new pages for the chamber, the municipality and its departments, and tentatively the Limestone Rotary Club.

Funds for the website project were allocated by the Limestone Selectpeople to the chamber over a year ago; the group was given $5,000 for creation of a new Web page as well as brochures promoting the town.

With the input of other chamber members, Vice President Joe LaPierre created a template of what the chamber is looking for to occupy www.limestonemaine.org. Hamilton explained that the site wouldn’t appear exactly as it did on the proposed printout, existing Web forms would allow for the page to look very similar. While the site’s initial load screen is slated to house information pertaining to the chamber, a side-bar would feature town’s municipal departments on subsequent pages and possibly a separate page featuring the town’s Rotary Club.

The new Web page is also slated to feature a list of all Limestone’s businesses; chamber members will be provided the opportunity to be featured on their own non-interactive pages.

Hamilton explained that due to the number of pages the chamber was ultimately looking to create and the organization’s non-profit status, it would cost approximately $3,000 to build the new community website.

For over an hour, Hamilton discussed different concepts and concerns regarding the page.

“Your answers have been really helpful,” explained Vice President Michelle Albert, adding that the chamber has been working on developing a new Web presence for over two years.
