PRESQUE ISLE – Joseph L. Lee, 78, died early Friday morning, March 16, 2007 at a Mars Hill healthcare facility. He was born at St. Andrews, N.B. Canada on August 26, 1928, the son of Henry Miles and Mary Elizabeth (Cathcart) Lee.
He worked as a purchasing agent and sales representative for John Deere Co. at Gould & Smith in Presque Isle, and for the Great Northern Paper Co. as a wood scaler. Joseph was an outdoorsman, loved to fish, hunt, and trap. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Opal (Lawrence) Lee of Presque Isle, a son Michael Lee and his wife Tina of Presque Isle, a sister Violet Lee of St. Andrews, N.B., Canada, three grandchildren, Katlyn, Kristen, and Madison Lee of Presque Isle, a niece and nephew, Kelley and Bruce.
Relatives and friends called noon until 1PM Monday, March 19, 2007 at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A memorial service was held at 1PM at the funeral home with the Reverends Andrew DeRier and Earl Durost officiating. Condolences may be expressed at duncan-graves com.
