LIMESTONE, Maine — Limestone United Methodist Church’s congregation will be holding their annual UNICEF drive on Sunday, Oct. 23 between 12:30 and 3 p.m. During this time, the church’s adults and youths will tote the iconic orange boxes through the streets of Limestone collecting money for the ongoing work of the United Nations International children’s relief efforts.“Just a few cents can guarantee a child will be vaccinated against disease; just a few cents can make a difference in whether a child has a meal or not; just a few cents can make a major difference in some child’s life,” reminded Pastor Ellen Cleaves of the Limestone United Methodist Church.
The church has been holding an annual UNICEF drive for over 50 years.
“The community people have always given generously to these efforts and it has been greatly appreciated,” Cleaves added.
