The UMPI Owls cross country team made the trip to Wenham, Mass. for Saturday’s Pop Crowell Invitational Meet.
The men ran on an 8K course, while the women ran on a 5K course. The Owl men were led by Philip Boody, who was 117th out of 222 total competitors with a time of 31 minutes and 45 seconds.
“Phil ran strong in the middle of the race to again run a personal best time,” said UMPI coach Christopher Smith.
Andrew Nesbitt (146th, 33:06), Jaron Gray (175th, 35:31), Richard Landry (209th, 41:14), Tim Chase (213th, 41:40) and Zach Abbotoni (216th, 44:56) were the other UMPI runners.
On the women’s side, Emily Wright led the Owls by placing 93rd out of 270 racers. Her time was 22:15. Carly Langley (111th, 22:36) and Sarah Taylor (214th, 26:37) were the only other UMPI runners taking part in the event.
“Emily and Carly ran their best times of the season,” Smith said.
