Leo & Sons: Loyal to customer service

Honesty is the secret to staying in business in this area, according to the owners of Leo & Sons  Citgo, Inc., located at 231 South Main Street in Caribou. This can be especially true when the business involves the maintenance and repair of cars and trucks.

Over the years, brothers Dale and Scott St. Peter have maintained that honesty is the key to a strong relationship with the motoring public.

“Customer service is the most important thing,” said Dale St. Peter. “We treat people the way we would like to be treated.”

Leo’s was established 38 years ago by Leo and Jeannette St. Peter and is now operated by the St. Peter brothers, assisted by five full-time employees.

St. Peter said that if a car needs a certain repair or engine work, the job is really needed. “We don’t do something you don’t need done,” he stated.

One feature the service station offers is Fast Lube, a Citgo program, which is a process that every vehicle should undergo every 3,000 miles or every three months.

“Keeping fresh oil in your vehicle will make it last longer and cut down on the car’s wear,” St. Peter explained. Checking the car over during a Fast Lube takes about 30 minutes — during that time, the oil and filter is changed and other fluid levels including the transmission, windshield washer, break fluids and antifreeze are also examined and replenished if necessary. After topping off all the fluids that keep a vehicle running smoothly, Leo’s mechanics also check to ensure proper tire pressure.

Leo’s sells three grades of Citgo gasoline and offers diesel fuel and kerosene.

In addition to the engine maintenance/general vehicle repair facet of the family-owned shop, Leo’s also provides AAA emergency service, wrecker and flatbed towing.

Business hours are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
