The members of the Stockholm Historical Society are offering an invitation to everyone to attend a special Open House at the Stockholm Museum on Sunday Sept. 4 from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
“We are very proud of the new loft additions in the barn that have allowed us to spread out more of our displays as well as create new ones,” stated Sandra Hara, vice president of the historical society. “We now have the ice cream parlor, Fannie’s Garage and Dick’s Barber Shop set up plus many other artifacts for our guests to view, all very accessible,” she added.
Hara also stated that the Stockholm Museum will be closing soon for the coming winter months, so the open house provides the perfect time to visit this ‘gem’ located right in the middle of Stockholm.
“We do have a proud bicultural history well-preserved in this museum and we are continually working to upgrade the building as well as working on the displays,” Hara said. “This is a labor of love for the history of this town and the surrounding area.”
Set aside some time during the Labor Day Weekend and on Sunday, Sept. 4, round up your family and friends and treat everyone to some local history on display at the Stockholm Museum. Light refreshments will be available.
There is no admittance charge, however donations to the museum are greatly appreciated. The Stockholm Museum is listed in the national registry of historical sites.
