Soccer Tryouts

Caribou High School girls soccer tryouts will be Tuesday, August 2 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 3 from 3-5 p.m., and Thursday, August 4 from 6-8 p.m.

Any girl interested in trying out must have a current physical on file at the school nurse’s office.

Tryouts will be at the Caribou High School soccer fields.

Officials Clinic

The Northern Maine Board of Approved Soccer Officials will conduct a clinic for prospective soccer officials in the ski building at the Caribou High School athletic complex.

Bob Stedt, NMBASO Rule Interpreter, will be the clinician.

The clinic will be held on Saturday, August 6 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Any person 18 years off age or older who is interested in officiating the game of soccer this fall on the middle school and junior varsity level in Aroostook County is urged to attend.

There is a $35 dollar fee and pre-registration is recommended.

Swim Meet Results

The Presque Isle Swim Team placed first at the Caribou/Limestone Swim Meet on Wednesday, July 20.

Presque Isle scored 407 points; Fort Fairfield was second with 322 points and Caribou with 116 points. Individual high points winner from Presque Isle were: Rhylee Kinney, Madelyn Wing, Joshua Watson, Joshua Pimentel, Nate Dewitt, and Alex Hemphill. High point winners from Fort Fairfield were Chase Coiley, Alexis Coiley and Camille Hoffman. Caribou high point winner was Sara Boyer.

Washburn Events

Washburn August Festival Co-ed Softball Tournament to be held in Washburn on August 20-21. Entry fee $125. Double elimination. Call Ron Ericson at 455-4501.

Also 3 on 3 basketball tournament August 12 at 6 p.m. Ages 16-up. Teams have at least 3 and no more than 5 players. $50 per team. May have under 16 division also. Call Ericson or Larry Worcester 455-8003 for details.
