Results of Caribou Little League games played through July 9: Key Bank 20, Woodland Tigers 6; Shop ‘n Save 9, Woodland Eagles 6; Sleepers 18, North Stars 6; S.W. Collins 22, VFW 7; Savings Bank of ME 10, Shop ‘n Save 1; Sleepers 12, Key Bank 11; North Stars 11 woodland Tigers 8; S.W. Collins 3, Police 2; VFW 26, Woodland Eagles 2; and American Division Championship play-off game Sleepers 18, K of C 6.

Final standings American League: Sleepers 11-4, K of C 10-5, Key Bank 7-7, North Stars 5-9 and Woodland Tigers 1-13. Final standings National League: S.W. Collins 14-0, Savings Bank of ME 10-4, Police 10-4, VFW 5-9, Shop ‘n Save 4-10 and Woodland Eagles 1-13.

Schedule for July 13 through July 19: Wednesday, July 13 American Division semi-finals; Friday, July 15 National and American Division Championships; Tuesday, July 19 first game of best of three Championship Series.

All-Stars have been named for the Caribou Little League.

Making the National League 9- and 10-year-old team is Tyler Wright, Zack Gerakaris and Dagan Savage of S.W. Collins; Sebastian Marquis, Seth Roy and Brennan Poitras of Savings Bank of Maine; Wyatt Taggett, Ghent Durepo and Caleb Trombley of Woodland Eagles; Alex Ezzy and Parker Deprey of Shop ‘n Save; Josh Cummings and Darren Hall of VFW; and Andrew Evans from Police. The manager is Ryan Deprey and the coaches are Gary Marquis, Rick Taggett and Richard Ezzy.

Making the American League 9- and 10-year-old team is Camden Huck and Jacob Ouellette of Sleepers; Jacob Soucy, Branden Masse and Reiley Bossie of Key Bank; Gabe Rand and Colby Bonville of K of C; Joshua Quist, Alex Bouchard, Noah Hixon and Austin Findlen of North Stars; and Brand Manter and Cameron Doody of Woodland Tigers. The manager is Pat Bither and coaches are Scott Curry and Ken Hixon.

On the National League 11- and 12-year-old team is Donovan Savage, Zach Wright and Gabe Massey of S.W. Collins; Jacob Burby, Jaelynn Doody and Caleb Willett of Savings Bank of Maine; Hunter Milliard of Woodland Eagles; Ben Ezzy of Shop ‘n Save; Matt Nadeau, Jarred Morrow and Evan Desmond of VFW; and Tyler Dombrowski, Bailey Griffeth and Scott Long of Police. The manager is Richard Ezzy and coaches are Steve Desmond, Brian Massey and Dave Nadeau.

The American League 11- and 12-year-old team consists of Mason Huck, Alec Cyr, Spencer McDuffie and Stewart Curtis of Sleepers; Noah Frost, Austin Scott, Nick Pelletier and Noah Rosado of Key Bank; Kyle S. Beaulier, Conner Plourde, Georgiana Fields and Nick Sleeper of K of C; and Devon Chamberland of North Stars. The manager is EJ Huck and the coaches are Dave Sleeper, Frank Frost and Kevin Cyr.

Summaries of some recent games are as follows:

American League 21, National League 2

In the first game which matched up the 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars, the American League scored 8 runs in the first inning, 3 in the second, and broke the game open with 10 runs in the fourth inning.  Coupled with a strong pitching effort, the American League defeated the National League by a final score of 21-2.  

For the American League, four players had 2 hits, including Camden Huck of Sleepers with 2 doubles and 2 rbi, Austin Findlen of the Northstars with a double and single and 2 rbi, and Noah Hixon of the Northstars and Cameron Doody of the Woodland Tigers with 2 singles each.  

Combining on the mound for the American League for a 4-hit, 2-run performance were starter Noah Hixon of the Northstars, Camden Huck of Sleepers, Alex Bouchard of the Northstars, and Gabe Rand of Knights of Columbus.  

For the National League, they could only muster 4 hits.  Sebastian Marquis of Savings Bank, and Caleb Trombley of the Woodland Eagles had rbi singles, and Tyler Wright of S.W. Collins and Wyatt Taggett of the Woodland Eagles had the other two hits.  

National League 22, American League 3

In the second game with the 11- and 12-year-old All-Stars, the National League got hits from 12 players and scored in every inning, and six pitchers clamped down on the American League offense to go on to a 22-3 victory over the American League.

Offensively for the National League, Ben Ezzy of Shop ‘n Save had 4 hits, including a double and 2 triples, and drove in 3 runs to lead the attack.  Four players had 3 hits, including Zach Wright of S.W. Collins who had a triple and 4 rbi, Jacob Burby of Savings Bank who had 2 doubles, Tyler Dombroski of Police with a triple and 2 singles and Evan Desmond of VFW with 3 singles.

On the mound for the National League, Caleb Willett of Savings Bank started and went two shut-out innings to get the win.  A trio of S.W. Collins players, Zach Wright, Donovan Savage, and Gabe Massey each pitched an inning.  Ben Ezzy of Shop & Save also pitched an inning, and Jacob Burby of Savings Bank struck out the side in the last inning to close out the game.  

For the American League, they scored two of their runs in the third inning.  After two walks and a single by Devin Chamberlain of the Northstars, Jo Jo Fields of Knights of Columbus drew a based loaded walk, and Kyle Soetart-Beaulier of Knights of Columbus hit a sacrifice fly.  In the fourth inning, Mason Huck of Sleepers hit a solo home run over the left-center field fence to account for the other run.

Shop ‘n Save 9, Woodland Eagles 6

Shop ‘n Save scored early and held on for 9-6 victory over the Woodland Eagles, overcoming a 3 home run game for the Eagles’ Hunter Milliard.

For Shop ‘n Save, Alex Ezzy had a triple and single, and Trey Taylor had a double and single to lead the attack. Ben Ezzy added an rbi double, and Kerrigan Manter, Caleb Brown, and Evan Burgay had singles.

On the mound, Trey Taylor started and pitched 1+ innings. Alex Ezzy came on and pitched 4 1/3 innings with 7 strikeouts to get the win. Kerrigan Manter got the final 2 outs with the bases loaded to earn the save.

For the Woodland Eagles, Hunter Milliard had 3 home runs, one inside the park, one over the center field fence, and one over the right field fence, totaling 4 rbi. Wyatt Taggett had 2 singles for the Eagles’ other hits.

On the mound, Hunter Milliard pitched the first 4 1/3 innings, getting 12 strikeouts. Caleb Trombley finished up the other 2/3 innings with 2 strikeouts.

Sleepers 12, Key Bank 11

In a very close 12-11 game, between very evenly matched teams, it came down to a single run.

Offensively Sleepers was led by Stewart Curtis who had his first ever Little League over the fence home run. Curtis added 2 other hits, drove in 6 runs and scored twice. Alec Cyr reached base safely 4 times, Mason Huck added 2 hits, Camden Huck hit his 6th triple of the season and added a single. Spenser McDuffie also singled driving in a run.

Defensively Camden Huck pitched 4 solid innings getting relief from Spenser McDuffie and Mason Huck.

Sleepers also turned two double plays in the game. For Key Bank Nick Pelletier scored 4 runs and had 3 hits, Casey McCrossin reached base 4 times, Austin Scott had two hits and drove in 4 runs while Noah Frost added a triple.
