Members of the Limestone-Caswell Historical Society recently received a donation from the Maine Community Foundation’s Aroostook County Fund to help build a pole barn to house antique farm equipment. Celebrating the donation were, from left, LCHS Building Committee member Norman Page, Treasurer Marilyn Beaulieu, President Bob King, who accepting the check from Greg Collins, vice president of the Maine Community Foundation’s Aroostook County Fund, and Raymond Beaulieu, LCHS Vice President.

Once erected, the barn will house (and better preserve) larger pieces of antique farm equipment.

Members of the organization established the “BUY A RAFTER” fundraising program to finance the cost of construction materials; volunteers will help with the actual building of the barn.

“The local community has been very supportive with generous contributions of money materials and labor,” said Marilyn King, “The Maine Community Foundation’s Aroostook County Fund has joined this effort with a donation; this greatly appreciated gift will allow the project to be completed this summer.”
