Total damages may exceed $20,000
CARIBOU — At least 10 teenagers are responsible for vandalism damages at the Caribou Country Club that may exceed $20,000. The damage was found just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, having been carried out sometime during the night; damages spanned the fairways, playing greens and equipment as well as $800 worth of stolen golf clubs.
An estimated $15,300 in damages done to golf carts and club property was reported to the responding Caribou Police Officer Jason Matheson, who has been leading the investigation for the department. Upon arriving at the scene, Matheson took numerous photos and interviewed witnesses.
On June 24, two adults and eight juveniles were charged with multiple crimes in relation to the vandalous act; Zachery Corriveau 18, of Caribou was arrested for burglary, a class “C” felony, aggravated criminal mischief, a class “C” felony, and class “D” theft by unauthorized taking or transfer. His bail was set at $1,000 cash or $5,000 single surety. Corriveau was unable to make bail and was still being held at Aroostook County Jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
Aaron Tarbox 18, of Caribou was charged with criminal trespass, a class “E” crime.
Juveniles ranging in age from 15 to 17, both male and female, are being charged with criminal trespass, a class “E” crime and criminal mischief, a class “D” crime. One of the juveniles was also charged with burglary, a class “C” felony.
