Second grade students at Hilltop Elementary School recently held a bottle drive raising $150 which they donated to the Half-way Home Pet Rescue in Caribou. The students in Mary McLaughlin, Rita Roy and Cheryl Martin’s second grade rooms, discovered the importance of helping out and giving back to others through their unit of study, Pass it On. While at the school to accept the generous donation from the elementary students, Norma Milton, president of the HHPR, brought along several of her furry friends to meet the children. Presenting Milton with the sizeable donation while at the same time getting to know their new friends, from left are: Zackary Madore, Jordan Duplessie, Caleb Espling, Cory Herbert, Kearstin Coty and Malachai Willey.
