LIMESTONE — Lawrence E. Bourgoine Sr., 80, husband of Gretchen (Thompson) Bourgoine, died April 15, 2011, at a Caribou health care facility. He was born at Limestone, August 10, 1930, the son of Louis and Helen (Doucette) Bourgoine Sr. He was a self-employed farmer in the Limestone and Caribou area for several years until his retirement. Lawrence was a member of the Parish of the Precious Blood St. Louis Catholic Church.
He is survived by his children, Lawrence E. Bourgoine Jr. and his wife, Siepi of Florida, Rodney Bourgoine and his wife, Linda of Washburn, David Bourgoine and his fiancée, Beatrice Charette of Caribou, Wayne Bourgoine and his wife, Rena of Caribou, Sally Sandstrom and her husband, Steve of New Sweden and Randy Bourgoine and his wife, Nichole of Caribou; one brother, Louis Bourgoine Jr. of Woodland; two sisters, Barb Greenier of Caribou and Lorraine Michaud of Cross Lake; his grandchildren, Julie, Roger, Billie Jo, Jesse Addie and Lyddie; many great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gregory Bourgoine and two sisters, Cynthia Page and Blanch Evans.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., Monday. Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2011, from the Parish of the Precious Blood St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, pastor, officiating in a Mass of Christian Burial. Spring interment will take place in the St. Louis Cemetery.
