Deschenes, Michaud, West win crowns

LIMESTONE — In a triple pageant on Aril 10, three youths were awarded the titles to place them in the ranks of Limestone royalty. Sirrea Deschenes was crowned Junior Miss Limestone, Emily Michaud was crowned Pre-Teen Miss Limestone — the first time the title has been given for the town — and Kourtney West was crowned Little Miss Limestone.

There were five contestants for the crowns:

Sirrea Deschenes, daughter of Dana and Colleen Deschenes, performed a crown-winning monologue “Secret Agent Red Riding Hood” while competing for the title of Junior Miss Limestone. She was sponsored by Danielle of Talk of the Town.

Emily Michaud, daughter of Trevor and Danielle Michaud, performed a high-energy dance routine to the song “Car Wash,” which helped earn her the Pre-Teen Miss title. She was sponsored by Gilles Michaud Farms and was voted Miss Congeniality by her peers.

Pre-Teen Miss contestant Megan Tucker, daughter of Bill and Susan Tucker, sang the song “You Belong With Me” and was sponsored by Rathbun Lumber Company.

Kourtney West, daughter of Paul and Becky West, twirled her way to the title of Little Miss Limestone with a baton routine to “Super Girl.” She was sponsored by Clifford Rhome CPA.

Little Miss contestant Kerrigan Deschenes, daughter of Paul and Becky Deschenes, danced her little heart out during a routine to the song “Hey Mickey.” She was sponsored by Parent’s Country Store.

Special entertainment was also provided during the pageant by Miss Limestone Audra Kirk, Teen Miss Limestone Juila Weatherhead, and the dynamic duo of the Bencivenga sisters — Junior Miss Limestone 2010 Ellyzabeth and Little Miss Limestone 2010 Kennedy.

The pageant, themed “Welcome to the Girls’ Club” and adorned with Disney-inspired decorations was sponsored by the community sorority Xi Alpha Theta and was visited by a variety of area queens.

Junior Miss Limestone contestant Tia Deschenes was unavailable to compete in the pageant.
