The stage at the Caribou Performing Arts Center was the setting for the 2011 Queen of the Sea Pageant during which nine talented young ladies vied for the respective crowns and titles of Pre-Teen, Teen, and Jr. Miss Caribou.

The contestants competed in judged categories which included physical fitness, talent and evening gowns.

Providing special entertainment for the evening affair were 2010 Pre-Teen Miss Caribou Samantha Fortin; Jr. Miss Caribou Victoria Keaton and Teen Miss Caribou Hannah Hebert.

The opening number, a dance routine choreographed by Hannah Hebert, included participation by the reigning queens and the nine contestants. The troupe performed to the music of “I want to be a Pirate.”

Standing on stage, the three reigning 2010 Caribou queens bid farewell and offered their thanks and appreciation to family, friends and other community members via a recording during which they also talked about their favorite events they participated in during their reign. Included with the evening’s printed program were letters from each of the 2010 queens.

Capturing the coveted Caribou crowns were Kyra Brynn Thibeault, Pre-Teen Miss; Kelsie Marie Washington, Jr. Miss; and Reanna Lynn Plourde, Teen Miss Caribou.

Named first runner-up in their individual title competition were Meagan Dube, Pre-Teen Miss; Karena Patterson, Jr. Miss; and Courtney Sheldon, Miss Teen Caribou.

Contestants voted by their peers to the title of Miss Congeniality were Meagan Dube, Karena Patterson and Reanna Plourde.

Judges for the triple-crown pageant were Paula Bradley Shaw of Mapleton; Amber Moutinino of New Sweden and Tracey Kinney of Presque Isle. Auditors were Katie Smith and Lisa Millard.
