Dreams versus Reality

Consultations turn into confrontations.
Insults and debate into incarceration and hate.

The hole that we fill will never be full.
The notes hummed but never sang.
Thoughts kept but never spoken,
Sleep forever, but never woken.

Will you see what I see? Will you hear what I hear? Will you feel what I feel?
Only time will tell, as the clock strikes 12 midnight tonight.

Will you be the same when morning brings new light? Or would it be better if you slept forever? Past the night, past the morn, away from the hot suns scorn.

Be forewarned. What you see, what you hear, what you feel, may be all too real. And once awake, you can never return to the dream world that once appealed.

So is it better if I let you sleep tonight? Or should I wake you when the morning sheds new light? Tell me now or tell me never as the dreams hold, in reality, could be better.
