Military museum enjoys wide support

To the editor:

I am the secretary of the Loring Military Heritage Center and a veteran who served in the USAF, proudly, at Loring. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the communities of Caribou, Presque Isle, Limestone, Loring and DFAS for all the recent support of the Loring Military Heritage Center’s Brownie a la Mode Sale. The Heritage Center worked hard on Valentine’s Day to make and deliver 900-plus brownies to your communities. It is with sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of you, for your donations and your sales, that we exceeded our sale from last year. Even the snowstorm could not halt our deliveries.

Many thanks to the volunteers for helping, the Caribou Legion for the use of the kitchen, Shop ‘n Save in Caribou for the donation, the Jade Palace owners, John and Karen Wong, our members for their continued contributions and support and to our officers for being there faithfully. Thanks to those who purchased brownies for their business and employees.

Our Center works hard all year long to keep the memory of Loring alive and well, and to keep our Center open for veterans, civilians, retirees and their families to come out and see all that we have collected. We look forward to serving the community at these events, but the community serves us in helping us pay our bills as well. And for that, we thank you! God bless you all!
