CARIBOU — Members and friends of the Caribou Fire Department recently attended this year’s Annual Recognition Night for the Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department held on Dec. 8.

While a few of the color guards are hidden behind flags, they are, from left, Capt Lance Longley, Mike Divito, Jared Willey, Darren Pelletier, Justin LaPlante, Jesse Belanger and Matt Doody.
During the evening, the members of the department were recognized for their years of dedicated service to all the communities they serve. The department averages five ambulance and one fire call every two days; along with emergency and transfer calls, the department also does many public service events and programs.
Caribou Fire and Ambulance Chief Roy Woods noted that their one department continues to excel in their duties that would normally be spearheaded by two separate departments in other communities, saving Caribou and other communities serviced by the department thousands in tax dollars.
