Celebrating the coming holiday season, from left, Denise Green, Brenda Sirois and Allyson Masse have teamed up once again, offering hand crafted items to early shoppers. Kindred Spirits, located at 100 Old Washburn Road, will be the location of a two-day open house, Nov. 26 and 27, during which seasonal and everyday unique home decor items, created by the three Caribou women, will be on sale.

The three crafters offer items that include, canvas floor cloths, wooden signs, cabinet and shelves, jelly cabinets, shaker cabinets, stitchery home decor and grungy primitives (also some lighted grungy primitive items). A popular item, created by Masse, besides her floor cloth paintings is the Aroostook County signs. An array of country primitive gift items from retail vendors will also be available included snowmen, dolls and wreaths.

Other featured items will include, jams, candles, ornaments, barn-board birdhouses, handcrafted primitive benches and fresh balsam wreaths.

Last year the three longtime friends offered their crafts, for nine days, when they were located in the former Powers Theatre building, along with a fourth crafter, the talented local artisans have also displayed their wares at area craft fairs

“Stop by and say hi,” encourages Brenda Sirois, “if we don’t have what you’re looking for, we can come up with something.” Sirois, who does a considerable amount of carpentry, along with the others, has been known to customize kitchen and bathroom cabinets for clients. “When we see something in a country decorating magazine, it’s not unusual for one of us to say, ‘I could do that,’” Sirois added.

The trio will also book home parties. “Anyone interested in having us come to their home can just call and we’ll set up an appointment. We’ll bring along whatever items that are of interest to the booking group and we’ll go from there,” she said.

So mark your calendars, forget about the Thanksgiving leftovers that are taking over your refrigerator, and start the holiday season right by treating yourself to the sights and scents at Kindred Spirits. The open house will be held on Friday, Nov. 26, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday, Nov. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Door prizes will be given out to shoppers and refreshments will be available.
