LIMESTONE — Do you have too left feet? Are your go-to moves the twist and the sprinkler? Whether your levels coordination are good, bad, or just plain ugly, bring them on down to the first ever Harvest Dance on Saturday, Oct. 30 in Limestone from 7 to 10 p.m. Sponsored by the Limestone’s Rotary Club and Recreation Department, the Veteran’s Gym dance extravaganza is gearing up to be a fun evening with a Country Western/Harvest theme — so break out the plaid shirts, bolo-ties, cowboy hats, farm polos and matching boots.
The better your outfit, the better your chances for winning the best-dressed prize but should participants come down with a bit of harvest-humbug and choose not to dress for the occasion, they will still have a chance to win a variety of door prizes awarded at the dance.
Two-step your way around the dance floor to music by the rock and roll band “Hope Recovery” or maybe hang back and watch the talented performances from the Limestone Line Dancers and the Limestone Square Dancers. It’s also been rumored that Aroostook County Potato Mascot “Spuddy” might make a guest appearance at the event; if you’ve never seen a dancing potato before, you might want to check out the Limestone Harvest Dance.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Limestone Rotary Club Town Clock project and the Limestone Historical Society pole barn renovations — both of which aim to be an aesthetic boon to the town.
The cost of the all-ages dance is $5 per person and concessions will be available.
