GRAY – Claude J. Bechard, Jr., 50 years of age, of the North Raymond Road went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland following a battle with brain cancer.
Claude was born in Caribou on April 6, 1960, the son of Claude J. and Stella Morin Bechard, Sr.
He had worked many years as a truck driver, working as a sub contractor for the U.S. Postal service and also was a builder of Harley Bikes.
Claude loved his family very much and was close to a lot of people who he cared for dearly. His belief was that you don’t have to be blood to be family. He loved riding his Harley.
Claude is survived by his mother, Stella Morin Bechard Nelson of Caribou, his wife of 17 years, Blandine Waterhouse Bechard of Gray, one son, Matthew Bechard of Washburn, three daughters; Tabitha Morse of South Portland, Beverly Morse of Gray and Bithany Kittridge of Millinocket. Also surviving is one brother, Wilfred Bechard of Bartlett, Tenn.; and one sister, Claudine Cook of Caribou. There are four grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Damien Stone, Cameron Dicenso, James Dicenso and Arianna Dicenso. He was predeceased by his father, Claude Sr. and three brothers, Bradford, Michael and John all of Caribou. There are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at the chapel of Independent Death Care, 660 Brighton Avenue, Portland. A funeral service was held at the chapel on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11 a.m.
