LIMESTONE — Paul “Chris” Durepo II, 29 of Limestone, is a fourth generation firefighter working full-time as a firefighter/EMT and part-time as an EMT for Crown Ambulance. When he’s not responding to emergency calls, he enjoys going to camp, working on his racecar and spending time with his spouse Libby and their four-legged companion Zoe, the firehouse dog. While extinguishing fires and rescuing distressed individuals is hard work, Chris acknowledges that the lifestyle isn’t just hard on the firefighters.
“It’s hard on our families to adjust to the craziness of dropping everything at any hour of the day to respond to a call,” he said. “Some calls last 15 minutes and other calls can last for three days.”
A family committed to protecting the public, Chris’ family members work to strengthen the community as firefighters, EMTs, police officers and customs agents.
“I would like to salute all firefighter families for all that they give up so that we can be great firefighters and EMTs,” Chris said. “Limestone firefighters are trained well and committed to what they do; I am proud to be a member of the Limestone Fire Department,” he added.
