Tracy, Arland C., 69, Ellington, CT and Caribou, December 31, 2009. A burial service will be held at the New Sweden Cemetery on June 5, at 11 a.m., and a memorial service will be held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Caribou. Arrangements are in the care of Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
Ellington, Conn. and Caribou – Arland Clayton Tracy, 69, of Ellington, Conn., went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2009. He was born on June 15, 1940, in Caribou, the son of the late Stanley and Alice (Anderson) Tracy. Arland moved to Connecticut in 1959 to work for Peterson Roofing Company in Hartford. He also worked for other roofing companies in the area before he and two of his brothers, Alden and Roland, started their own business in Tolland in 1978, known as Tracy Brothers Roofing. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Viet Nam War and served in Korea. Arland was a faithful member of the Hartford Full Gospel Church for more than 50 yrs., where he enjoyed playing his harmonica and steel guitar.
He is survived by two sisters, Mildred Tracy of Chicopee, Mass. and Avis Miller and her husband, Clifford, of Woodland; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Alden and Patricia Tracy of Mt. Dora, Fla., Roland and Faith Tracy of Tolland, Conn., Richard Tracy of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Rodney and Cathy Tracy of Ellington, Conn.; five nieces, nine nephews, and several great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
A burial service will be held at the New Sweden Cemetery on June 5, at 11 a.m., and a Memorial Service will be held at the Bethel Pentecostal Church at 294 Access Highway in Caribou, at 1 p.m. Local arrangements by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou.
