Caribou senior Evan Susee looks for the safe signal from the umpire after sliding head-first into third base prior to the tag applied by Old Town third baseman Gabriel Melmed during Saturday’s opening game of a doubleheader played at Caribou High School. The Vikings lost, 7-1, and also dropped game two of the twinbill by a score of 6-5. The team was beaten at PI last Tuesday, 15-5.

Caribou was scheduled to play Houlton yesterday and will host both Ellsworth and John Bapst in doubleheaders Saturday and Monday before closing out its slate next Wednesday at home against Presque Isle.

He played in last Tuesday’s loss at Presque Isle, but was forced to miss Saturday’s games against Old Town, in which the Vikes suffered 7-1 and 6-5 losses.
