Helping Neighbors provides small 0-interest loans or grants to very low income individuals in serious need and who have exhausted all other resources. Helping Neighbors only asks that those who benefit from their assistance might pay the loan back when it becomes possible for them to do so. Helping Neighbors is funded by donations from individuals, churches and businesses.
The County Federal Credit Union (CFCU) “Count on The County” initiative is awarding $1,000 to a non-profit organization in Aroostook County within the field of membership each month during the year. CFCU encourages everyone to take part by sharing with those most deserving.
Residents of the region can nominate their non-profit organization at www.countyfcu.org. Eligible submissions must be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in good standing.
