New Sweden – Frederic “Penner” Ringdahl, Jr., 78, died May 7, 2010, at his New Sweden residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Caribou, July 5, 1931, the son of the late Frederic and Martha (Hedman) Ringdahl. Penner was a graduate of Caribou High School and attended the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church. He was a self-employed farmer in the New Sweden area for a number of years. He then worked as a potato broker for Beaver Brook Farms and more recently was employed by the New Sweden Highway Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Elaine Ringdahl of New Sweden; one son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Tammy Ringdahl of West Gardiner; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cindy Peterson of Ennis, MT, Marcia and Tim Stohlberg of Caribou, and Carrie and George Sawyer of Gray; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date by the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Friends who wish to contribute, in memory of Mr. Ringdahl, may do so through the Gustaf Adolph Lutheran Church Memorial fund.
