LIMESTONE — Jonathan Cote, 26, of Limestone is a full-time firefighter/EMT-B at the Limestone Fire Department (LFD). He’s been full time with LFD for three years now, though he started with the department as a part-time firefighter. He is also currently a part-time EMT in Madawaska, and a volunteer firefighter in Fort Fairfield.     Having responded to a variety of calls including fire, EMT and hazmat emergencies from the top of the state to central Aroostook County, Cote has learned that firefighting is a very dangerous and rewarding occupation.
“Firefighters in the Aroostook Fire Protection district 1 have some of the best training and provide the best of service in a professional manner to the citizens of their service area and the surrounding communities,” he said.
With his father being the fulltime assistant Fire Chief in Fort Fairfield, Cote grew up knowing that he wanted to be involved with the fire department.
When he’s not traversing the county assisting with emergencies, Cote likes to teaches classes, hang out with friends, read fire history books, collect fire department patches and go camping.
He likes a mixture of musical genres and likes pizza, but not roast beef.
Cote has two brothers and one sister.
