Melissa H. Graham was recently welcomed as the new administrator of Maine Veterans’ Home in Caribou. Graham has 16 years of long-term care experience and MVH is very happy to have her on board.
“I am honored to be a part of such an outstanding and compassionate organization,” said Graham. “The County’s veterans and their families deserve the best care possible and in my first few days I have witnessed what has given the Home such a wonderful reputation — care provided with the respect and dignity our veterans and their families deserve.”
Graham moved to Caribou three years ago from Dover-Foxcroft with her husband, Corey, a casualty claims manager at MMG Insurance Co., and their two children, Hannah, 12, and Benjamin, 7.
“We really enjoy living in the area,” added Graham. “I look forward to going out into the community and working with the many veterans service organizations where I can help advocate for our veterans.”
Graham graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 1992 and has multi-level license as a long-term care administrator. For 13 years Graham served as the operations manager at Hibbard Nursing Home, Inc. in Dover-Foxcroft. She has been serving as the administrator at Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill since 2008.
MVH has six locations in Augusta, Bangor, Caribou, Machias, Scarborough and South Paris. Operating as a public, not-for-profit organization, MVH works closely with state and federal agencies, veterans’ service organizations, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans Administration, and local communities to provide quality services to veterans and eligible family members.
These state-of-the-art facilities are recognized nationally for their modern amenities, exceptional programs and full continuum of care and that includes long-term care, residential care, dementia care and rehabilitation and skilled nursing. Most importantly, MVH’s success can be directly attributed to the staff’s and volunteers’ unwavering commitment to taking care of Maine’s veterans.
