C-A-N-C-E-R accepts “Count on the County” Initiative Award from CFCU

    The County Federal Credit Union’s “Count On The County” Initiative Committee recently awarded C-A-N-C-E-R the fourth $1,000 award in the “Count On The County” Initiative.

    The fourth of $1,000 “Count on the County,” Initiative awards was recently presented to the C-A-N-C-E-R (Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education) organization. Participating in the award ceremony were, from left: Ryan Ellsworth, CFCU executive vice president; Craig Green, C-A-N-C-E-R treasurer; Stacy Edgecomb, branch supervisor, CFCU Caribou; Dan Bagley, branch manager, CFCU Presque Isle; and Ken Hensler, president/CEO County Federal Credit Union.
    Caring Area Neighbors for Cancer Education and Recovery supports families and individuals dealing with cancer. C-A-N-C-E-R is not affiliated with national cancer organizations, but offers free services. All funds donated to the non-profit remains in the area.
    The $1,000 will help support C-A-N-C-E-R’s Pharmacy Program, supplying free personal care products, Bread Of Life Visitations, the monthly delivery of fresh, home-cooked bread and personalized tote bags to clients.
     According to Ken Hensler, president CFCU, The County Federal Credit Union (CFCU) "Count on The County" Initiative is awarding $1,000to a non-profit organization in Aroostook County within the field of membership each month for the year.” CFCU encourages everyone to take part by sharing who is most deserving.
    Residents of the region can nominate their non-profit organization at www.countyfcu.org. Eligible submissions must be a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in good standing.
