LIMESTONE — Jim Leighton, 44, of Limestone has been with the Limestone Fire Department for 20 years and is currently an assistant chief. Outside of the department, he is the superintendent for the Limestone Water and Sewer District.
“I have worked in the town for 25 years and thought working with the department and all the firefighters would be a great way to help out the Townspeople when they need it the most,” he said.
Though his career and his volunteerism consume much of his time and his DJ business keeps him extra busy, he spends his free time working on his vintage snowmobiles and relaxing with his wife Debra, his daughter, Chelsea, and his step-daughter, Erika Gallmeier.
“As a firefighter, leaving your family at any time to help others in need can be, and is, very dangerous, but you do what you have to when others are in need,” he said.
Leighton’s favorite kind of music is classic rock and his favorite food is steak and potatoes. His least favorite food is beans.
