John G. Maxwell, 53, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 after a long courageous battle at Hartford Hospital. He was born on January 11, 1957, in Caribou, ME, the son of the late Jeanette Ford and Lloyd K. Maxwell and his stepfather Raymond Ford of Marlborough. John was a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and was a dedicated employee for the State of Connecticut, serving as former Deputy Director of the Support Enforcement Division and most currently a Judicial Marshall Coordinator. John was a successful, endearing and strong man that fought the ultimate battle but finally succumbed to the Lords’ calling. He leaves behind a long legacy, a loving family and some truly great friends. He will never be forgotten, will always be cherished and forever loved.
John is survived by his long time girlfriend, Joanne Rocha; her four children; his sisters, Linda Westman and her husband, Richard of East Hartford, Diane Mazerolle and her husband, William of Maine, Marjorie Maxwell, Carolyn Blanchette and her husband Gene and Vickie Beach all of Fla. and his brother, Lloyd Maxwell and his wife Deborah of East Hartford; a cherished aunt, Ruth Vetsch of Fla., numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins and his extended family and friends.
John’s family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Bliss 10E Hartford Hospital for their dedicated service and care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 9:30 at St. James Church, 767 Elm St., Rocky Hill. There are no calling hours.
