Norbeck, Ruth Helen, 94, Woodland, at Caribou, February 7, 2010. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., February 10 at the Gustof Adolph Lutheran Church, New Sweden. Arrangements are in the care of the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.

 

Image    WOODLAND – Ruth Helen Norbeck, 94, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, died February 7, 2010, at Caribou.  She was born at Caribou, January 30, 1916, the daughter of Fredrick and Elizabeth (Bacon) Dickinson. She, her husband and four children, worked their family farm in Woodland for more than 50 years. She was a life long member of the Gustof Adolph Lutheran Church in New Sweden and was a very active member of the LCW.
    She is survived by her three daughters, Rita Adams and her husband, Harold of Caribou, Glennis Wheeler of Southington, CT and Marlene Durepo and her husband Jeffery of Limestone; two sisters, Mary Sirois of New Sweden and Gertrude Erickson of Worchester, MA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Chester N. Norbeck; one son, Fred Norbeck; one granddaughter, Debra Norbeck Derr, a grandson, Christian Wheeler, brothers, Fredrick, Basil, Kenneth and Floyd Dickinson, sisters, Cora Cochran, Fern Harmon and Madeline Albert.
    Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m., Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Gustof Adolph Lutheran Church, New Sweden, with the Rev. James Morgan, officiating.  Spring interment will take place in the New Sweden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends who wish to contribute in memory of Ruth may do so to the Gustof Adolph Lutheran Church memorial fund.  Envelopes may be obtained through the funeral home.
