Members of the Caribou Historical Society are in the midst of planning for an “Old Fashioned Barn Dance,” to be held Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8 p.m. to midnight, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Caribou.         Music for the evening will be provided by the “Good Old Boys.” Joe Bouchard, president of the Caribou Historical Society stated, “Sharpen up your spurs and get out your dancing shoes for a great evening of fun and music.”
The Feb. 27 affair will also feature door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
Plans are also being made to host a Snowmobile Show on Saturday, March 20. Members of the Caribou Historical Society are in hopes of having a number of older or vintage snowmobile on display with plans to offer rides to youths. This spring event will take place at the Historical Society location on the Presque Isle Road from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Chicken stew, chili, cornbread and biscuits will be available at a cost of $5 per person. Children under the age of 12 will eat for free.
During this event, the museum will be open for the public to visit and browse through, enjoying the many historical items that are on display. Periodicals and booklets containing stories written by local writers will also be available for purchase.
