The Eastern Maine Class D standings show Fort Fairfield (9-0, 27.2059 points) is on a mission to remain undefeated. The Tigers are second in the region, while Washburn (6-5, 21.2963) is fourth and Limestone-MSSM (2-8, 1.6340) is 17th. The following is a recap of girls games played through Monday.
Washburn 59, GHCA 26 — At the University of Maine at Presque Isle Monday, Rebecca Campbell had 22 points to lead Washburn past Greater Houlton Christian Academy. Rayah Saucier chipped in 15 points for the Beavers, while her sister Meghan Saucier added 11; Jordan Chandler, four; Sarah Sjoberg, three; while Felicia Cochran and Angie Hernandez both had two.
Mariah Wiley paced the Eagles with 15 points.
Washburn led 20-4, 33-4, and 50-19 at the quarter breaks.
Fort Fairfield 74, Katahdin 34 — At Fort Fairfield Monday, Brooke Beaulieu and Amanda Hotham each scored 15 points to lead Fort Fairfield past Katahdin. Courtney Churchill added 13 points (all in the first half) for the Tigers, while Kelsey Turner and Danielle Tracy both had nine; Sydney Churchill, six; Kelsie Wilson and Emily Blaisdell, both two; and Rebecca Pelkey, one.
Olivia McNally and Brittany Fogarty had eight points apiece for the Cougars.
Fort Fairfield led 21-4, 37-9 and 58-19 at the quarter breaks.
“That was our best game of the season by far,” Fort Fairfield coach Larry Gardner said. “We came out hard and fast, and shut down McNally with a diamond and one, holding her to just three shots in the first half.”
Washburn 41, Ashland 30 — At Washburn Saturday, Rebecca Campbell netted 23 points to lift Washburn past Ashland. Hernandez, Chandler and R. Saucier each had four points, while M. Saucier added three; and Cochran, two.
Paradis scored 13 points to pace Ashland, while Jimmo added eight; Baker, four; LaBelle, three; and Graham and Cote, both one.
Washburn led 8-2, 23-11 and 31-16 at the quarter breaks.
Fort Fairfield 49, Limestone-MSSM 20 —At Limestone Saturday, Hotham tossed in 18 points, while Beaulieu added 11 and Churchill seven to spark the Tigers to victory over Limestone-MSSM. Stephanie Leighton paced the Eagles with seven points, while Jasmine Cote added six.
Fort Fairfield led 17-2, 29-5, and 44-9 at the quarter breaks.
Fort Fairfield 66, Hodgdon 44 — At Fort Fairfield Jan. 6, Amanda Hotham poured in 23 points to lead Fort Fairfield past Hodgdon. Brooke Beaulieu contributed 10 points for the Tigers, while Tracy and Wilson both added nine; C. Churchill, six; Blaisdell and York, both three.
Chelsea Sloat paced Hodgdon with 18 points, while Destiny Ellis added seven; Haley Quint and Emmaly Jurson, both six; Whitney Wallace, four; Jillian London, two; and Kimberly Levesque, one.
The two squads were tied 10-10 in the first quarter, before Fort Fairfield seized a 28-15 lead at the break.
