The middle school teachers stated, “Casey is a kind, hard-working and responsible student and is always willing to help others. This is part of who Casey is, whether it is a classmate that needs to borrow a pencil or a teacher asking for someone to help. When we went to the Caribou Performing Arts Center recently, she willing gave up her seat to another student.”
Connor Plourde, was named Student of the Month for December by his fifth-grade teacher Mrs. Deede Duncan and Mrs. Jola Hebert of the “Explorers” team.
“Connor is active in the Caribou Middle School chorus, band and show choir, is a homeroom representative and he is also very busy outside of school participating in rec and AYBL basketball and the Dutch Soccer League.” said the team teachers. “Connor is an excellent fifth-grade student who has made high honors,” added his teachers, “he is kind, considerate and very well respected by his teachers and his peers. He sets an excellent example for his classmates.”
Jordan Bivens is a sixth-grade student on the “Super-sixers” team and was selected as Student of the Month for December by his teachers Mrs. Jen Quinlan and Ms. Sarah LaJoie.
The CMS team-teachers said, “Jordan is a new student at CMS this year, yet in a very short amount of time, he has earned the respect of both his teachers and his classmates. His friendly demeanor and outgoing personality make him well liked by all who have the opportunity to work with him and while he excels academically in the classroom, his talent does not end there. Jordan is a talented artist, a member of the CMS chorus and show choir and a dedicated student organization representative for his homeroom.”
Cory Michaud was named the Student of the Month for December from the grade-six “Six-ceeders” team by his teachers Mrs. Susan Keaton, Mrs. Twyla Learnard, Mrs. Cathy Bouchard, Mrs. Ruth Dionne and Mr. John Pelletier.
“Cory is a very conscientious student who does not mind hard work,” said his teachers, “he works to increase his learning and makes it a point to become involved in classroom discussions. He is never afraid to ask questions to further his own learning, which also facilitates the learning of his classmates. Cory is very considerate, kind to his peers and he is a good friend, always respecting others which causes others to respect him as well. He is a mediator for others when they experience disagreements. Cory has a great sense of humor and is also a good artist.” When not at school the grade-six student enjoys dirt-biking and four-wheeling.
Erin Patton, a seventh-grader, was selected as Student of the Month for December by her teachers Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mr. Steve Perreault, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Ms. Shelly Richardson.
The CMS staff stated, “Erin is a delightful young lady who always has a smile on her face and a kind word on her lips. She excels in her schoolwork, consistently earning honors and give her best effort so that her work is done well and on time. Enthusiastic about every class, a participant in all activities she offers a helping hand to teachers and fellow students, bringing her positive attitude to school functions including orchestra, basketball and soccer. Erin Paton is an accomplished student.”
Taya Damboise is a grade-seven student and was chosen Student of the Month for December by her teachers Mrs. Mary Curtis, Mrs. Kim Barnes, Mr. Steve Perreault, Mrs. Holly Rhinebolt and Ms. Shelly Richardson.
The seventh-grade student’s teachers stated, “Taya is a nice person who always works hard in school. She is a pleasure to have in class and can be counted on by her teachers to always work hard and to do the right thing. Tays is respected by her classmates and teachers for her knowledge and kindness to others.”
Emilee Sirois is a member of the eighth-grade class at Caribou Middle School and was named Student of the Month for December by her team-teachers Mrs. Jennifer Rand, Mr. Ralph Fantasia, Mr. Troy Barnes, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper and Mrs. Jessica Dow.
Her teachers said, “Emilee has been a high honors student his year and has been an outstanding student in her classes. She is a friendly and polite young lady, who is very quick to help out her fellow students. During her time at CMS, she has taken part in basketball, the math team, and the school spelling bee. Emilee has also been a member of the CMS band, recently achieving All-Aroostook honors, was the editor of last month’s student newsletter and is also an active member of the gifted and talented program.”
Caleb Gordon, a grade eight student at CMS was selected Student of the Month for December by his teachers Mrs. Jennifer Rand, Mr. Ralph Fantasia, Mr. Troy Barnes, Mrs. Shannon Sleeper and Mrs. Jessica Dow.
The eighth-grade CMS instructors stated, “Caleb is a pleasure to have in the classroom and is a hardworking student. He is always prepared for class, always willing to help his classmates and his sense of humor creates a positive classroom atmosphere. In addition to his academic work, Caleb participates in Caribou Martial Arts, the CMS alpine ski team and this year he will join the cross-country ski team.”
