‘Olive the other reindeer’ makes cameo apperance

Olive and the Pimentos (think of it as “all of the other reindeer”) were out and about early Tuesday morning not “Singing in the Rain,” but rather in the snow, as they made their rounds to city offices, sharing the holiday spirit by singing Christmas carols at each of their unannounced visits.

“Olive and the Pimentos,” (as in “All of the other reindeer”) made a cameo appearance at the Aroostook Republican office Tuesday morning, serenading the office staff there with a medley of Christmas carols (some of which were sung with the group’s own lyrics interjected). The new group in town are all staff members at the Caribou Public Library. From left, are Pimentos: Mona Martin, Bridget Longley, Jean Shaw, Tanya Peterson and  Diane “Olive” Dubois.

“We did this last year, just as a spur of the moment thing,” said Mona Martin, young adult librarian at the Caribou Public Library, “and we had so much fun we had to do it again.”
Olive and the Pimentos are all staff members at the Caribou Public Library. “We have a great time doing this and it seems to boost the Christmas spirit wherever we go — and our own as well,” Martin added.
Members of the city’s newest group include Martin, young adult librarian; Bridget Longley, Jean Shaw, children’s librarian; Tanya Peterson and Diane “Olive” Dubois, director of the Caribou Public Library.
